Bruce Gillespie was a creative genius and incredible instructor who inspired many graphic artists and other creative individuals. In his retirement he planted watermelon seeds and bird watched. Although graphic design was a big passion of Bruce's, so was music. The inspiration to the memorial poster I created was to showcase a general nostalgic feeling, as well as making reference to the fact that an individual's creativity can be charged while listening to music. The idea behind the poster was to showcase that once music was turned on the creative ideas began to fly, just like the birds Bruce used to watch. the style of the illustration sketchy in order to represent thumbnails or ideas. The quote on the poster is a lyric from Panic! at the disco's - Nine in the afternoon, a personal inspiration of mine.
